Sorry this is so boring…..

Loss(-)/Gain(+):  -5.4 lbs

Current Weight:  250.6 lbs

Hey there one and all!  Another super weigh-in.  Down another 5.4 lbs this week for a grand total of 31.6 since February 10th.  Even with our trip out of town I’m averaging 4.5 pounds per week for the 7 weeks I’ve been on the program so far.  YAY!!!

26 down

Loss(-)/Gain(+):  -4.6 lbs

Current Weight:  256.0 lbs

Hey there stalkers!  I’m coming to the realization that I’m not blogging as much this time around because there isn’t quite the angst there was in 2012.  It’s so much easier to lose weight when you work at home and have more control over your environment.  Boyfriend does have “his food” here….but I consider it “his food” and am not even tempted.  Much different than smelling others’ lunches in the office, donuts, bagels, cakes, potlucks……

I was on another short trip, which is also why I was silent.  I don’t like to broadcast when I’m out of town until after I’m back.  Boyfriend and I went to Phoenix for 5 days to catch some good weather and spring training.  I did not consciously eat off of plan, but you never know when sugar has been added to certain things.  We walked a lot, and I should have had a deficit calorie-wise…..but when I got back I had a weigh-in the day after, 14 hours after landing the plane, and I was up over a pound.  Apparently when you travel you retain water.  Anyway, so today’s weigh-in showed a 5.8 pound loss, for a grand total of 26.0 lost since February 10th.  So I’m satisfied with that.

This time around I’m able to eat nuts sometimes, cheese sometimes, and avocado.  Oh, and light mayo.  Everything needs to be accounted for.  I average 850 calories per day, and am almost always under 30 net carbs.  I’m seeing now that Ideal Protein’s products actually had quite a few carbs, so then there was no “extra” to give when a person wanted nuts, avocado, etc…..

However, I am a bit hungrier on Medi-Weightloss than I was on IP…..and I suspect the IP products also had something to do with it.  Some days I’m not hungry though, some days I am…..just like when you aren’t dieting.

And yes, I know I shouldn’t call this a diet because it makes it seem like it’s a short-term thing, and I know it isn’t.  I know I will have to eat like this 80% of the time when I’m in maintenance, if not 90%.

Another loss

Date: 3/10/15

Loss(-)/Gain(+):  -0.8 lbs

Current Weight:  260.6 lbs

Down 0.8 pounds today.  I’m not disappointed because I’m day 2 of my period, and feeling incredibly bloated.  Plus, their fancy scale shows that I lost 3.5 pounds of fat this week and am retaining quite a bit of water.  I am in ketosis, so no worries.

I’m down 21.6 in 4 weeks.  Not too shabby.

My next weigh in will be on Thursday, 3/19 because I won’t be available for my normal Tuesday weigh-in day.

As I read other blogs I still have to scratch my head as to how some people come to the decision of weight loss surgery.  To lose weight and keep it off you have to radically change the food you eat… why put your body through a surgery?   Live and let live, but I just don’t understand it.  I don’t see it as the easy way out, because if it was the easy way, then everyone who has the surgery would be successful, and they are not.  I see it as putting your body through unnecessary hardship, when you have to restrict food forever anyway.  I don’t know.  There are just several programs out there that tout (accurately) 2-5 pounds weekly weight loss (if you follow the plan)….so that should be enough to keep a person motivated.  But maybe not.

Back home again……

I went back back to my “old” and favorite template look on here.  I’ve found nothing I like better, so there you go.  Let me know if the font is difficult to read.

I have more energy, that is for sure.  Yesterday, randomly, I cleaned my oven  So slowly I’m getting my condo in order.  So much to do!!!

I’m very happy, in a very nerdy way, that my Sparkpeople trophy will be rolling over to the next trophy very soon.  This means I’ve been active on the site.  Yay!

In other news it’s still so cold out, but at least we don’t have the snow like the east coast, or even like Louisville, KY today.  OK, over and out.

Another great weigh-in

Date: 3/3/15

Loss(-)/Gain(+):  -4.6 lbs

Current Weight:  261.4 lbs

4.6 down for a total of 20.8 lost in 3 weeks.

I am well above average for women on this program, and I’m not sure I understand why, although I’m not complaining.

I’m pretty sure by week 2, but definitely by week 3, on Ideal Protein I was averaging between 2.0 – 3.5 pounds each week.  And I was heavier starting out.  Again, not complaining.

The basic differences between my 2012 journey and my 2015 journey, which could account for higher weight loss (to this point) per week include:

1.  I’m on almost all “real” food.  I average about 850 calories per day, and usually no more than 150 calories are from “products”

2.  I am on a prescribed appetite suppressant called phendimetrazine, 35 mg.  Never been on one before.

3.  I’m 41 instead of 38 (I would think would not be in my favor)

4.  I started the program in February instead of late May.

So I have no idea.  It will be interesting to see how next week goes.  🙂

Sunday night update

Everything is going great with the food portion of the program.  I was supposed to start exercise this week, and so far I have not done that.  Oh well, a person can’t be perfect.  I did charge the battery of my fitbit.  LOL.

Boyfriend mentioned again tonight that he is finding it interesting to see the changes in my face due to losing weight.  So nice to hear it.  Plus, a good friend of mine told me today she is starting to see it.  And of course my dad sees it too (I saw him yesterday).

So it will be interesting to see what the scale says on Tuesday morning….
